Alondra Nieves, 03 Lady NPL, and Mateo Moyon, 04 NPL, were selected to participate in this month’s US Club ID 2 training camp in Massachusetts. They were selected from more than 60 participants in August’s Player Development Program camp (PDP) for the South Atlanta National Premier League. Alondra and Mateo were among NPL players from Georgia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina.
“We are excited for Matteo and Alondra to have this opportunity through the ID2 Program. Matteo is a player that continues to go from strength to strength and is maturing into a very promising young footballer. As for Alondra, this is another notch on her belt as she continues to impress at a very high level. Both are very hardworking and committed young players and we are delighted to see their hard work continue to pay off,” said Dave Carton, Executive Director.
PDPs are focused around the NPL and other top leagues in specific geographic areas. PDP invitations are based on objective scouting of elite clubs and leagues, combined with recommendations from top Directors of Coaching.
The South Atlantic Premier League launched in the fall of 2012 and includes 12-U through 19-U boys and girls divisions. Earlier this year, the South Atlantic Premier League took the next step in its league offerings by being accepted as an Elite National Premier League (ENPL) qualifier. Now, its 14-U through 19-U boys champions will advance to the ENPL Playoffs, beginning in summer 2018.
